Ben Fox is the founder of Fox Law, where he brings a distinguished academic background and broad legal experience to bear on behalf of his clients in trust and estate litigation.

Ben’s willingness and ability to advocate for others began at a young age in sixth grade. He then strengthened his analytical skills at Bethany College, where he graduated summa cum laude with his Bachelor of Arts degree.

After obtaining his degree, Ben served as a teacher and coach. This dual role instilled in him a deep respect for preparation, clear communication, and teamwork: skills that would later define his approach to practicing law.

As Ben transitioned out of teaching, he saw law as an opportunity to advocate for people at critical moments in their lives. Law offered a unique way to stand up for others, to analyze complex problems, and to communicate clearly and persuasively. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from the University of California, Davis School of Law, one of the nation's top law programs, before being admitted to the State Bar of California.

During his legal training, Ben honed his research and appellate skills at the U.C. Davis California Supreme Court Clinic, where he drafted briefs for cases pending before the state's highest court. He continued to hone his writing skills as an extern for the California Attorney General’s Office in the Appeals, Writs, and Trials division.

In between semesters, Ben served as a judicial research clerk in the Superior Court of Santa Cruz County, which gave him an insider's understanding of how courts operate—an advantage he brings to every case. He also sharpened his courtroom skills while serving as an intern at the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office where he argued preliminary motions and examined witnesses on the stand while under the supervision of a Deputy District Attorney.

After law school, Ben developed formidable civil litigation skills through roles in the areas of personal injury law and corporate litigation defense. These varied experiences across both prosecution and defense, trial work and appellate advocacy, give him the ability to anticipate opposing strategies and analyze cases from every angle.

As owner of Fox Law, Ben focuses his practice on trust and estate litigation. His experience representing both beneficiaries and trustees allows him to approach each case with a uniquely well-rounded perspective, and he has a proven track record of achieving excellent results even in the most complex factual and legal situations.

Ben is a recognized thought leader in his field, having been published in the California Trusts and Estates Quarterly and the Daily Journal's California Lawyer, as well as blogging on topics that include California law regarding financial elder abuse.

Ben has achieved a Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent®, a designation given to attorneys who are ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards by their peers. California Super Lawyers® has named Ben as a Rising Star and a Super Lawyer, a distinction earned by fewer than 2.5 percent of attorneys in California.

Ben is an active member of the Sacramento County Bar Association (including its Probate and Estate Planning section) and the Trusts and Estates section of the California Lawyers Association. He is also committed to his community through his involvement with the Rotary Club of Arden-Arcade and as Vice President for the board of Capital Community Athletics, a non-profit organization using sports to connect with the robust refugee population in Sacramento.

Outside of work and professional activities, Ben enjoys time with his family, hiking, mountain biking, kettlebell workouts, community development, literature, and playing the guitar.
